Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is a American professional basketball player who plays for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Wings were drafted with the fifth pick of this year's WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale was born the 2nd of March 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are two of her siblings. She is the youngest of her siblings and was the one who received the greatest attention from her parents. Gregory was an Nigerian Army officer for a length of time. Ogunbowale is from a family who has connections to the sports world. The brother Dare is a football player and her mom Yolanda played softball at DePaul. Her aunt played tennis at UAPB. Also, her cousin Endia plays volleyball too in Tennessee State. Ogunbowale has been on the list of honors at her high school three times in a row. The school also recognized her for her achievements in high school with various accolades. Arike graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School situated in her home town. Alongside her studies, Arike played three varsity teams while at Divine Holy Angels Savior High School. Ogunbowale's extraordinary capabilities and skills, helped lead her school to stunning wins multiple times. The high schooler has made an appearance in 73 games and has accumulated 1,477 rebounds and 1,477 rebound throughout her playing career. Ogunbowale participated at 2013 the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship and won Gold medals there. In July 2014 she was chosen to join the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was also named on the ACC All-Freshman Team following her debut year as a collegiate player. Kobe Bryant himself congratulated Ogunbowale after his NCCA Tournament big shot. Ogunbowale is a relative newcomer to basketball, has already become a major star. It is likely that she will continue to grow with her basketball career. Arike Ogunbowale could be worth $5 million according to an unnamed source. Ogunbowale has excelled in a variety of sports, including basketball. She is also a soccer player and even has won State Cups for the Lake County United Soccer Club.
